Overview

Rejecting the standard hero's journey, you are a malevolent Dungeon Keeper, an ethereal entity ruling an underground domain. Your mission is to dig out tunnels, construct specialized rooms (like treasuries, hatcheries, and torture chambers), and attract a vicious army of monsters. You must keep your creatures paid and fed while systematically slaughtering the self-righteous heroes who break into your dungeon to steal your gold.

Behind The Scenes

This was the final Bullfrog project helmed by legendary designer Peter Molyneux before his departure from the studio. The game famously included a "Possession" spell that allowed players to jump straight into a first person perspective inside any of their minions. When possessing a creature, the display grid altered to match that monster's biology for example, possessing a massive, multi faceted Spider unit warped the screen layout into a dizzying compound eye grid matrix.
